VR animation company, Boabab Studios, has launched a new Facebook AR Facebook filter that allows you to wear a colorful feathered face from their latest film, Crow: The Legend.

The face filter is similar to the Apple’s Animoji app. The AR filter allows the user to move their eyebrows up and down, open their mouth, and turn their head. The AR Crow mask will follow the users every move. To make the filter even better you have the capabilities to lip sync along with singer, songwriter, and actor John Legend. Legend is the main actor in Crow: The Legend and plays Crow.

The song that users get to sing along to is an original for the movie and written by Legend. The AR filter also provides the lyrics on-screen karaoke style, so if you don’t know the words to the song you have something to follow along to.

Back in November Crow: The Legend was released on Oculus Rift, Oculus Go, and Gear VR. The animated interactive VR film has you join Crow and a group of forest creatures that feature an A-lister cast including Legend, Oprah Winfrey, Diego Luna, Sarah Eagle Heart, Liza Koshy, Tye Sheridan, and Constance Wu. The film takes you on an interactive VR adventure that tells the Native American story of how the crow came to be black.

The movie is also available in 2D on YouTube if you are interested in watching it.

The Facebook AR face filter is available now for iOS and Android smartphones.
