In July developer Halfbrick Studios released a virtual reality (VR) version of its popular mobile app Fruit Ninja for HTC Vive. Today the studio has announced expanded VR support, bringing Fruit Ninja VR to Sony Interactive Entertainment’s (SIE) PlayStation VR.
At its core Fruit Ninja VR has a simple but addictive core mechanic – slice as much fruit as possible in a given time, racking up combos to achieve as higher score as possible. Players have access to four different game modes, Classic, Arcade, Zen and Survival. Classic Mode will have players slicing fruit and avoiding bombs; Arcade Mode challenges players to slice as much fruit as they can in 60 seconds; Zen Mode is a relaxing 90 seconds of fruit with no bombs, a great way to hone the ninja skills; while Survival Mode has players facing off against flying cannons in the hardest mode in Fruit Ninja VR.
To score the big points players will need to skewer and juggle fruit whilst deflecting bombs, with all the scores featured on a global leaderboard for gamers to compete against.
