The Dead or Alive series has been a staple console beat ‘em up since the mid-90’s, and it’s always been well known for unashamedly using the bustiest girls ever seen in video games.
That said if you’ve never heard of Dead or Alive’s Xtreme 3, a peculiar Beach Volleyball spin-off from the main game, you’re hardly in the minority.
Previous Xtreme games have included several mini-games featuring bosom bikini babes competing in events such as “Tug of War”, “Pool Hopping” and notedly “Butt Battle”, where the girls try to push each other off a float using only their pixelated posteriors.
It’s a big deal in the East and has a generated a niche audience of western fans too.
But now you might have another excuse to take a closer look at the game.
During the recent Dead or Alive Festival in Tokyo, Xtreme 3 Producer Yosuke Hayshi announced that fighting game spin off will have a virtual reality-support update, which will launch alongside the PlayStation VR headset ‘s worldwide release on October 13.
The games publisher had said earlier this year that it had no plans to sell Dead Or Alive Xtreme 3 in the UK.
In a post on the Dead or Alive Facebook page, a representative for the games publisher Koei Tecmo wrote: “We do not bring DOAX3 to the west and won’t have any plan change in the future.”
However, that certainly won’t stop would be import specialists keen to exploits the games English language option.
In fact, anyone in the UK can still purchase it if they are savvy enough and are willing to jump through one or two hoops to purchase using an Asian PSN account.
Following the release of the game earlier this year in the west, develoeprs Koei Tecmo also announced a new free to play version of Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 on PS4 and PS Vita.
This edition of the game gave players the opportunity to use the character Kasumi in every feature of the bikini busting full game, excluding the casino.
However if you wanted to unlock more content you’d have to purchase a casino pass for each additional character separately.
