Space Junkies, which is set to launch on March 26, has just released a new beta for PSVR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and Windows VR.

The beta began on March 21st and will last until through today. Developers say the beta will offer the same experience as the full game. The full game is set to launch with four different PvP modes that are playable across six maps and there will be a number of character classes and weapons.

Ubisoft also announced that all play forms will support cross-play, with Ubisoft’s UPlay acting as a communal friend’s list. Adrian Lacey, Ubisoft Montpellier, said that all supported platforms will get regular new content which includes new modes, maps, weapons, and customization items.

Attendees at GDC got to try their crack at Space Junkies on the PSVR, where they were able to use the DualShock 4 gamepad, where users are expected to shoot using the gamepad’s 6DOF.

Lacey also mentioned that to keep game play fair across the platforms was a bit of a challenge. Gamepad shooting isn’t super immersive or as cool as using a gun with motion controls, which can be used with other headsets.

If you recall, PXVR wrote a piece about the zero gravity shooter game that will hit all major platforms later this month. Space Junkies is a 3D shootout game with 1v1, 2v2, and free-for-all modes.

Next week the verdict will be out on how well this game fairs with players.
